Vila Goddess of Transformation
Vila comes into your life to teach you to nourish wholeness by embracing flexibility and change.
Have you been too long in one form? Are you feeling rigid and stale, losing flexibility in your ways of thinking and being?
It is time to expand your awareness, to enhance your flexibility by gaining the perspective of other forms. It is time to move beyond basic human issues to merge with elements of nature.
When was the last time you experienced the rocks, trees, animals and mother earth as equal forms. When did you last gaze into the beauty of a flower, or connect with the mood of an art form? What have you always wished to experience but dared not?
Vila says the way to wholeness lies in experiencing the whole of creation in finite detail.
Suggested Ritual | |
Go to a quiet, warm place where you will not be disturbed for between 15-30 minutes. Play soft music if available. Sitting with your spine erect take twenty deep calming breaths. Close your eyes and mentally scan your body from the toes to head. Ask yourself "What am I feeling?", "What am I thinking?" Keep your minds eye fixed upon your choice of Mantra and should any other thoughts appear, see them float as a bubble gently out of your mind. Stay with this meditation until you are totally relaxed and centered.
About The Goddess | |
Vila (pronounced vee'lah) is the eastern European name for the Goddess of Energy moving through the earth as nature. Vily (plural) are known as female spirits that lived in the woods, mountains, and clouds; they could shape shift into swans, horses, falcons, or wolves. In Slovakia, they are regarded as the souls of dead girls that lead young men to their deaths; they fire arrows that may disturb one's reason. Vily are very protective of their terrain and use their arrows of death on those who trespass. They are consummate shape-shifters, able to change into animals such as snakes, swans, falcons, and horses. They love to play and dance. If contacted in the forest on a moonlit night, they might grant health, wealth, abundant crops or they might, if shown disrespect, dance the offender to death.
