Maybe start with a moot which you can then possibly utilise to meet up with people you might want to start a group with.

I know what you mean about travelling in to London. I sometimes wish there was more going on closer to home so I bit the bullet and invited people to my house instead for a ceremony. It went really well so I think I may do that again.
